The Australind arrived at Napier yesterday from Auckland to continue discharging hardwood from Bunbury. She -will complete discharge at Wellington and Lyttelton. The Wingatui was due at Melbourne on Saturday from Auckland. She loads at Melbourne for Auckla.nd, Wellington, and Lyttelton. The Wsitomo is timed to leave Lyttelton to-day for Timaru, where she will complete iording for Sydney. The Kaponga is expected at Lyttelton to-day from Westport with coal. On discharge, she proceeds to Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Waitomata is now loading at Pao.fic Coast ports for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Nelson, and New Plymouth THE SAN FRANCISCO MAIL. The R.M.S. Tamti, from San Francisco, via Papeete and Rarotonga, is due at Wellington this morning. The vessel will leave for Sydney at 3 p.m. to-morrow. KATHLAMBA FROM NEW YORK. A wireless message received by the A. and A, Line agency from the captain of the steamer Kathlamba: states that the vessel will arrive at Auckland to-morrow from New York. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company have been advised that the Athenic left Colon on September 2) for Southampton and London, en route from Wellington. The vessel sailed from Wellington on August 29. CARGO FROM EAST CANADA. According to cabled advioa the Union Company’s new steamer Waipiata, 3100 tons, arrived at Montreal on September 16 from the United Kingdom to load for New Zealand PAKEHA LEAVES MONTEVIDEO. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the Fakeha le?t Montevideo on September 20 for London, en route from Lyttelton. The vessel sailed from Lyttelton on August 31. THE BARQUE OLIVEBANK. According to a London cablegram the Finnish four-masted barque Olivebank left Mahe (Seychelle lalafads) about tbs middle of last week for Bluff and Dunedin. The Olivehank was reported some week ago as having sailed from Assumption (Seychelle Islands) on August 14. The vessel, which is bringing a cargo of phosphates, should arrive at Bluff some time next month. NEWCASTLE COAL SHIPMENTS. The quantity of coal (including bunkers) shipped at Newcastle during the week ended September 11 for places beyond the State was 82,129 tons, of which 64,781 tons represented shipments for Commonwealth and New Zealand porta, the remainder being for foreign poit®. For the corresponding period last year the total was 93,617 tons. RUAPEHU’S ITINERARY. The Kew Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruapehu is due at Wellington on October 4 from London and Southampton to End passengers for New Zealand. Sba will afterwards proceed" to Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff to discharge her cargo. The Ruapehu is scheduled to load at Bluff on October 15 and afterwards at Port Chalmers. Timaru, New Plymouth, Wellington, and Auckland for West Coast ports of Great Britain and London. Passengers will embark at Auckland and the steamer is to bo despatched for England on November 4. MINE SWEEPER WAKAKUHA. Out of Portland Harbour on June 15 there

sailed H.M.S. Wakakura the small mins sweeper which is to make the journey to Auckland to join the New Zealand Navy. Lieutenant H. A. Macdonald, K.N., is in command, and ho has under him another officer, a warrant officer, and a crow of 20. It will hs an uncomfortable and possibly a perilous voyage, for every available space has been stocked with coal so that the ship may make what are for her long leaps from port to port The first place of call will be Cape Verds, on the West Coast of Africa. From there the Wakakura will sail for Trinadad, then on to Colon, Salina Cruz, up the American coast os far north as San Diego. The next stage will he to Honolulu. Possibly she will call p.tPago Pago, but definitely at Fiji, and so on to Auckland. Naturally at each of these ports coal will be taken on, and i* ;3 hoped, if all goes well, to reach Auckland on October 25. WITHIN WIRELESS RANGE.
