STUDENTS’ DEBATE.

WON BY DUNEDIN TEAM. The debate between the Christchurch Accountant Students’ Society and the Dunedin Faculty of Commerce was held in Christchurch on Monday night (says the Press), Mr R. J. M'Laren presiding over a large attendance. The subject for debate was “That it is in ths best interest of the Dominion that the Government should institute and operate a system ol agricultural causing." The Dunedin team, consisting of Messrs L. M. Sattherwaite, H. R. Wright and Free, took the affirmative, and the Christchurch team, consisting of Miss M. Gag«, Messrs G. C. Pickett and T. Tymons, took ths negative. Mr W. J. Franklin was the judge. Dunedin were declared the winners by 134 points to 126 points. A hearty vote of. thanks was conveyed te Mr Franklin for judging the debate. Afterwards the visitors were entertained by the local members.
