A BRITISH COMPETITION. JUDGES’ DIFFICULT TASK. (Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copynghi ■ LONDON, September 22. From the seclusion of a Piccadilly roof to-day judges were seeking the most beautiful girl in Britain. They critically looked over 12 lovelv girls out of 1600 competitors. The girls had to show their knees, as well as tneir teeth, and answer many personal questions. Three were chosen—namely, Ivy Ellison (who was recently given a kinema position as the result of a newspaper beauty contest), Ada Phillips, eighteen, from Birmingham, who needed much reassuring before consenting to remove her hat, because she said "My hair needs waving”), and Noranna Rose aged 17, (from Edinburgh, who is now appearing in a small part in ‘‘Rose Marie”). All three are brunettes, with grey, or dark-blue eyes.
