PAINTERS’ AWARD. ONE PENNY PER HOUR INCREASE. (Per United Pbess Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, September 23. An increase in wages of Id an hour is granted to painters by the new award for painters and decorators in the northern Wellington. Nelson, Canterbury, and Otago and Southland industrial districts, which

The court’s memorandum states the court has settled the clauses relating to wacrcs, country work, ships’ work (in part), bicycle allowance, swing stage work exemptions, and ‘the term of the award. The court was asked to make provision for men working on paint-spraying machines, but has decided to hold over this question until the use of the machines has become more general.
