Colonel Gunn, Dominion Field Secretary of the Salvation Army, arrived in Dunedin by the express from the north on Saturday. Colonel Gunn is presiding over the Army’s anniversary celebrations, which are at present being held in Dunedin. Mr James Ritchie (Bannockburn), chairman of the Vincent County Council, left h.y (ho express on Saturday on route to Wellington, where ho will attend the Counties’ Conference. He was accompanied by Mr E. W. George, county clerk. Mr Douglas Spedding was a passenger by the north express on Saturday en route to Hamilton. Mr Spedding is one of the Otago delegates to tho annual conference of the New Zealand Real Estate Institute, which opens on Wednesday. The other Otago delegate, Mr A I*. Quolch, will travel by the north express to-day. Mr A C. Bretherton, at present on tho staff of the Public Trust Office as inspector for the South Island, has been appointed hv the directors of the Perpetual Trustees Estate, and Agency Company as the company’s district manager at Christchurch, where a branch of its business is being established Mr H. W. Boddy, at Present accountant to the Wanganui Herald Nowspaper Company, who has had considerable experience in trust, estate, and agency work in Dunedin, will shortly join the Dunedin staff of the company.
