A FATAL CRASH

EIGHTY MILES AN HOUR. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. (Treci Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. 1 ) SYDNEY, July 18. (Received July 18, at 5.5 p.rn.) Travelling at 80 miles an hour in a race on the Maroubra speedway, for tha Maroabra Gold Helmet, Sid Dutton, one of the best-known motor cyclists, crashed into the safety fence while attempting to pass two competitors. The accident was caused bv the handlebar touching the fence. The machine somersaulted, and hit a corner post with terrific force. Dutton, who received a fractured skull, died in hospital two hours later. His wife witnessed the accident.
