THE DUKE OF YORK

ARRANGEMENTS FOR VISIT. OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT THIS WEEK. (Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, July 17. (Received July 17, at 5.5 p.m.) The official announcement of the Duke of York’s visit will be published next week simultaneously in Britain and Australia. The details are subject to further consideration, particularly whether the Duchess and her child will accompany the Duke. If the Duke of York goes alone, the proposal is that he should follow the precedent of the Prince of Wales in utilising a warship. If he is accompanied by the Duchess and the necessary feminine entourage, a mail ship will be used, following the King’s precedent in 1901, because warships are not adaptable for womenfolk. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that the mail ship may be escorted by one of the most modern battleships.— A, and N.Z. Cable.
