Lyons), the Speaker of tha Assembly (Mr O’Keefe), the manager of the hydro-electric department (Mr Curtis), and the driver (Fulton) ran into the van of a goods train at a level crossing near Launceston. All the occupants of the car were thrown out and badly injured. The Premier suffered a fracture of the right leg and abrasions to his face and hands, Mr O’Keefe was the worst sufferer. Hia left leg was broken, his shoulder crushed, and his head and face injured. Mr Curtis received injuries to the head and a severe shock. The driver suffered concussion and head injuries.
