(Pep Unitep Pbehs Association.! AUCKLAND, May 29. A live "selling force” controlled by a board of three members—the Minister in charge of tourist resorts and the representatives of the Tourist Department and private interests was 1 suggested to the Prime Minister this morning by a deputation from the New Zealand Tourist League as the best means of fostering the tourist traffic. Mr Coates said he was opposed to making the country a second Switzerland and raised the question of accommodation, saying that the country would do itself a bad turn if it attracted more tourists than it could provide for. MASTERTON, May 29. A ballot tor the three Tvpurupuru sections, held this morning, resulted in the successful applicants being Bartholomew (Tinui), Peter MTlae (Hatuma), and A. V. Theobald (Dtnnovirke) WELLINGTON, May 29. The census returns show that, the population of Auckland city is 67,829. an increase of 6117. The population of Hutt County, which has been altered by the exclusion of the new ", T tvc" Hutt Borough, is 6681, an increase of 28. Including the borough, the Hutt County shows an increase of about 43 pei cent. _________
