At the monthly meeting of the Morn ington School Committee there -were present—The Rev. Mr Cooper (chairman), .Messrs Sainsbury, Ethridge, Lawrence, Gardner, Burgess, Grainger, Collier, and Haig. The head master reported that the attendance had dropped owing to wet weather and children suffering from colds. Miss Digby' Smith's resignation was received with regret, it was decided to place on record the committee’s appreciation of the services rendered to the committee and the district by Mr J. W. Patton, who has served on the committee, and by Mr E. Sincock, who has given six years’ service. These gentlemen did not seek re-election at the last annual meeting. The South Otago Freezing Company has received the account sales in connection with shipments of frozen produce made on account of district producers tinier the ‘pooling” system adopted by the company with small lots. It will interest producers to learn (writes our Baiclutha correspondent) that the highest price for lamb was made by a consignment from Mr F E. Cook, Owaka- namely, 29s 3d net to the grower. At the time these lambs were put into the local works the best price on the ground was up to 25s a head. In every case in fact it has been found that the price realised by the "pool" was better than the "on the leg” price, the difference ranging from 2s to 2s 5d a head.
