Essex.—Sussex: First innings, 125 (Russell took five for 25); second, 374 for eight wickets declared. (Bowley 102, Williams 61, A. E. Gilligan 50 not out. Essex: First innings, 244 (Freeman 100, Cutmore 94; Tate to. five wickets for 303); second innings, 60 for two wickets. The match was drawn. Hampshire v. Somerset. —Hampshire : First innings, 212 (Mead 8V ; White took five wickets for 61); second innings. 349 for four wickets declared (Brown 144, Jameson 105 not out). Somerset: First innings, 361 (Lyon 126, Hill 60, Jameson four, for 56) ; second innings, 53 for two wickets. The match was drawn. Playing for Middlesex against Worcester, Durston took five wickets for 47, and Hearne five for 65. Playing for Worcester, Root took five for 38, Middlesex won. Palying for North Hants against Derby, Jupp made 109 for Derby. Storer took five wickets for 46. The match was drawn. Flaying for Yorkshire against Warwick, Sutcliffe scored 102, and Oldroyd 104.
