ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY’S CONCERT.

'Pile first concept of the Orchestral Society’s, season will be given in His Majesty’s Theatre this evening. The orchestral numbers have been well selected, and include “A Night on Mount Chauve” (M. Moussorgsky), which has not previously b- sn performed in Dunedin, the “Three Dances from Henry YIII” (Edward German), a selection from “The Gondoliers ’ (Sullivan/, Schubert’s sth Symphony, overture “Son and Stranger” (Mendelssohn), and the march from “Tannhnuser” (Wagner). The vocalists are Miss Lorna Smith and Mr John T Deech. Miss Smith will sing “Three Fishers” (Ilnllah) and “Ombra mni fu ” (Handel). Mr Leech, the popular tenor, will lie heard in “Angels Guard Thee” (Godard) and “The Message’ CBlumcnthnl). The box plan is open at the Bristol and a limited number of 2s tickets will be nr tillable at the theatre.
