COLON, May 26.—Sailed: Port Melbourne, for Auckland. The Calm, which arrived at Dunedin last evening from Wanganui, via ports, is to sail to-day for Bluff. She will return on Tuesday to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The City of Melbourne is expected to sail this evening for Portland (Victoria), where the remainder of her New York cargo will be discharged. The Breeze is due at Dunedin to-morrow from Lyttelton. She is timed to eail on Monday evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. The Holmdale is to leave Wellington today for Dunedin. She is due on Monday morning, and is timed to sail on Monday night for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The- C. and D. Line steamer Port Nicholson is due at Wellington on June 3 from Wanganui roadstead to complete loading for London. The Canadian Explorer is due at Auckland to-day from Wellington to complete loading for New York, Boston, and Montreal. The steamer Willaston left Auckland on Thursday morning for Lyttelton, where the remainder of her phosphate cargo will be discharged. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Hororata left Auckland on Thursday afternoon for Wellington to continue discharging general cargo from London. The Kairanga is expected at Wellington on Monday from Adelaide, and sails later for Auckland and Portland. Captain Martin, of the Union Company's steamer Waikouaiti, came ashore on sick leave at Lyttelton on Wednesday, and Captain M’Donald, of the Kaimanawa, transferred to the Waikouaiti. Surprise was caused in shipping circles Melbourne on April 29 by the arrival in !Port Phillip Bay of the steel four-masted Norwegian barque Olivebank, on her way from Canada to Port Lincoln (S.A.;, The vessel was not expected to call at Melbourne, and some mishap was feared when she passed through the Heads and anchored off Queenscliff. It was found however, that the ship had called at Queenscliff only to obtain charts for the run round the coast to Port Lincoln, where the vessel is chartered to load wheat, PORT NAPIER ARRIVES TO-DAY. From Louden, via Suva and Auckland, the 0. and D. Line steamer Port Napier was expected to arrive off the Heads at 4 a.m. to-day. The vessel will berth at Port Chalmers about 7.30 a.m. to discharge a large quantity of London cargo. MANUKA DUE ON TUESDAY. The Union Company advises that the Manuka, which arrived at Wellington on Thursday afternoon from Melbourne, is to sail to-day for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She is now expected here on Tuesday morning, end is timed to sail on Tuesday afternoon for Bluff and Melbourne. THE CITY OP BOMBAY. The A. and A. Line’s chartered steamer City of Bombay was expected to leave Auck land yesterday for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to continue discharging general cargo from New York. CARGO FROM LONDON. The C. and D. Line advises that the Port Kembla will leave London on June 16 with general cargo to discharge at Dunedin and . Lyttelton. STEAMER WEST CAHOKIA SOLD. The American steamer West • Cahokia, ■rf-hich has visited Dunedin and other New Zealand ports, has been sold to the Ocean Transport Company, New Y T ork, for 187,000 dollars. H.M.S. DUNEDIN’S ISLAND CRUISE. H.M.S. Dunedin is due at Suva to-day 6-om Auckland. She will remain In the Fijian Group until July 7. Subsequently she will proceed to Tonga, where she will remain for 10 days. The warship is due back at Auckland on July 23, TAINUI FOR NEW ZEALAND. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner TaiTiui was to leave Southampton yesterday with cargo from London as well as passengers and mail for New Zealand, She is due at Wellington on July 5 to disembark passengers. Afterwards she will proceed to Lyttelton, Port Chalmers, and Bluff to unload. FROM GLASGOW AND LIVERPOOL. The C. and D. Line advises that the motor ship Port Dunedin is to load at Glasgow and Liverpool, and will sail from the latter port on July 17 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. BARQUE GARTHPOOL IN TROUBLE. The four-masted barque Garthpool, bound from Sydney to Falmouth for orders, has put into Rio de Janeiro with her steering gear damaged. A cable to this effect was received' bv the Sydney Marine Underwriters and Salvage Association on May 18. The Garthpool is a vessel of 2652 tons, and left Sydney on March 1 with a full cargo of yrhaftt.

TRANS-PACIFIC STEAMERS. The Wairuna was to leave Wellington yesterday for Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. The Waiotapu, from San Francisco, is due at Auckland at noon to-day. The Waitemata, from San Francisco, should reach Napier about June 14. The Enton loads at Vancouver and San Francisco early next month for Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. SWAYNE AND HOYT STEAMERS. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co, advise that the Swayne and Hoyt Line steamer West Conob is scheduled to leave San Pedro on June 5 with cargo from Pacific Coast for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton and Dunedin She is due at Auckland on June 29. Also under charter to the Swaj'ne and Holt Line the Pawlet is scheduled to clear San Pedro on June 12. Her cargo from Pacific Coast ports will be unloaded at Auckland and Wellington. WINGATUI’S STORMY TRIP. The Union Company’s cargo steamer Wingatui arrived at Auckland last Monday evenins from Dunedin, via ports. Her arrival was delayed for about 36 hours by bad weather on the coast The Wingatui en countered north-east gales and rough head seas all the way from Wellington to the East Cape, which she rounded at 3 a.m. on Sunday. In the Bay of Plenty strong westerly gales and high head seas caused further delay. After passing Cuvier Island the sea became smoother, but the wind continued boisterous almost to port. The Wingatui was to leave Auckland yesterday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru, and Timaru. CITY’ OF WINCHESTER TO LOAD. ' The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advises that the City of Winchester left Townsvilie on Tuesday morning for Oamaru to commence loading for London. The vessel is due at Oamaru on June 1, and will afterwards proceed to Bluff, Port Chalmers, Wanganui, Wellington, and Auckland to complete loading. The Oity of Winchester is scheduled to sail finally from Auckland on June 19 for London, via the Cape Horn route.
