WINTER SHOW. The Motor Pavilion presented an exceptionally busy appearance yesterday, when a large number of men were employed in preparing the various stands and erecting the neceJkary tables for the display of exhibits at the Otago A. and P. Society’s Winter Show. It is gratifying to all concerned to know that on the opening day this large building, which covers two and three-quarter acres, will be practically fully occupied. The society has gone to considerable expense in erecting the necessary partitions to provide suitable refreshment rooms, committee rooms, and other rooms for the convenience of exhibitors. The Government graders made a start yesterday afternoon in judging the factory butter, and practically the whole of the cheese was staged ready for them to make a start this afternoon. The show will be officially opened by the Hon O. J. Uawken (Minister of Agriculture) at 2-30 p.m. cn Tuesday, June 1. Next week promises to be an exceptionally busy one, as in addition to the Winter Show, the races are to be held at W mgatui the Fanciers’ Club will hold itsannual show in the Canadian Court, and there are several conferences and annual meetings held during the week. The show will remain open each day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and a parking area ha? been arranged for the parking of cars, which will enter by the gate adjoining the quarry and leave by the Union street gate, so that there will be no confusion. The Minister of Agriculture haying agreed to retain the experimental plots, officers of the department will give lectures on these plots and answer any questions that farmers may wish to _ ask. The=e plot, were very much appreciated during the whole period of the Exhibition, and no doubt the farmers will appreciate the arrangements the committee has been able to make.
