THE EXHIBITION ART GALLERY.

TO THE EDITOR. PlEj—AVifh reference to the interview published to-day relating to the Art Gallery, there is an unfortunate inaccuracy as to the ventilation of the gallery which should bo corrected. It appeals from the report that there was “no escape for foul air." This, of course, is not so. It should have read “there is not enough escape.” There is a very excellent system of ventilation provided with powerful electric fans to extract the foul air at both ends of the main building. The next sentence also reads, “However, this could be easily remedied and needed only tho addition of ventilators, etc.” This sh’ould have read “additional ventilators." The report would then have described the nosition very fairly indeed, and what I en deavoured to convey. If you will, publish this letter I shall be very pleased, as J shall be extremely sorry that anything i might appear to have said would convey so wroK" an impression as to tho ventilation of the Art Gallery, which I am quite satisfied can be very easily put right in the way suggested.—l am, etc., Ernest Marsh, Art Director. Dunedin, May 28.
