At the Hamilton Court a charge ol obtaining £l7 by means of a valueless cheque preferred against a young man named Humbert Patrick Smith was dismissed. On a further charge of obtaining £2O by similar means at Wcluneton accused was > remanded to aT'-ear at vTol* lington. Bail was allowed. NAPiEB, May 28. Another suspected case of typhoid fever has been reported, an adult Maori male from the Pakipaki district, about four miles south of Hastings, having been admitted to the Napier Hospital. HOKITIKA. May 26. There is still no trace of Cecil Smith, who has been missing for 10 days.
