(Pb' United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, April 11. The grave of Captain William Hobson, R.N., tile first Governor of New Zealand, who died on September 10. 1842, and was buried in Symonds Street Cemetery, is to he marked by a suitable memorial. The grave is .narked by an ordinary headstone. The Depar'merit of Internal Affairs has .decided to call for tenders for the erection of an obelisk, which will form a more fitting memorial to a man who holds an honoured position in the history of New Zealand. A meeting of business men, attended by Mr H. W Dalton, senior Trade Commissioner in Australia, resolved to revive the Auckland branch of the New Zealand and British Manufacturers and Agents’ Association. The meeting elected a provincial council. A rally of Girl Guides in the Auckland province was held yesterday at the Domain, over 800 girls being present. The GovernorGeneral, Sir Charles Fergusson, took the salute at the march past. Interesting demonstrations were given by the guides. WELLINGTON, April 10.
