MELBOURNE TRAMWAYS. “GO-SLOW” STRIKE IN OPERA- ' TION, CPree* Association —By Telegraph—-Oopyrtglit.) MELBOURNE, April 30. Beginning with the first oars to-day, a regulation strike will be put into effect on practically the whole of the Melbourne tramway system. The dispute has arisen over the payment for the 10 minutes taken, to walk from the terminus to the depot and cack at lunch time. It is expected that by the end of the day the cars wilT be about three hours late. SMALLPOX ON THE BARRABOOL. ADELAIDE, April 11. (Received April 11, at 5.5 p.m.) The P. and O. steamer Barrabool from London arrived with four cases of smallpox on board. The steamer, with over 1200 passengers and crew, has been guaranteed. / NEW VICTORIAN GOVERNOR. LONDON, April 9.
