SECOND FLIGHT TO POINT BARROW. FOOD FOR OVERLAND PARTY. (Pre*» Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) VANCOUVER, (Received April 11, at 5.5 p. m.) A message from Fairbanks states that Captain Wilkins hopped off this morning in the aeroplane Alaskan on his second trip to Point Barrow-r The main object of the flight is to succour the party which is endeavouring to carry supplies overland to Point Barrow from the Alaskan railhead. Captain Wilkins plans to drop food when the party is sighted. The aeroplane carried two tons of freight, including 150 extra gallons of gasoline for the later trip across the Pole, Captain Wilkins expressed doubt whether they would be able to locate the overland party amid the difficult country and tangle of rivers where they are held up. He declared : “It will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. It is very nnlikelv that we shall be able to deliver the dog feed. Our flying height will be at least 5000 ft and we might strike serious trouble if we descended within 1 OOft of the ground to drop packages. He hopes to return from Point Barrow on Monday or Tuesday.—A. and N.Z. and Sydney Sun Cables.
