A fine compliment to the quality of New Zealand lamb is made in a letter which has been rceived by the London manager of the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board from Lady Burnhom, who recently visited New Zealand with the Empire Press Delegation. The letter reads as follows: —“1 have received the lamb, for which I thank you very much. It is in splendid condition. and lam going to have dinner i" order to prove to my friends how very good your lamb is. Ihe sad part is that people do not know how to treat it. I am teaching my East End Chib girls cooking, and I questioned them about storage meat. They all said they could not. cat it. Determined that thov should k"nw how good New Zealand meat was. I ordered a leg, hod. it hanging in a cold place for days, cooked it with plenty of dripping, and took it down cold. I wish you could have seen how thov enjoyed it. \\ ith n lesson as to how thaw it and cook it, they promised me that they would hu yit in the future I have been pushing Dominion goods for years, and was delighted to hear from several shops that they had taken my advice and were now selling them.” EXTENDED.

GREAT FUR DISPLAY.

At the request of many ladies of Dunedin, Madame Menere and Co. (Limited), who are holding their Display of Magnificent Russian and Canadian Furs in the Wentworth Hall, Stock Exchange Buildings (upstairs), have decided to continue same for a further few days, and thus give any reader who has not seen them a chance to do so. Without doubt, this is the largest and finest collection of Rare and Beautiful Fur Garments ever seen in Dunedin, and to those anticipating a new Fur for the coming winter affords a remarkable opportunity, as these Magnificent Russian and Canadian Furs are being sold at much under the New Zealand retail prices. During the past week hundreds of ladies (and gentlemen) have visited the display, which is worth going a long way to see. The hours are 10'a.m. to 1 p.m., 2 p.m. to 5 p.m Advt.

British Treasury notes are sufficient, if equally divided among all, to pay £6 per head of the population. For Influenza Colds take Woods Great Peppermint Cure. —Advt.
