NEW PERPETUAL-FIX)oERING CARNATIONS. The following now seedling varieties of perpetual-flowering carnations ha\e been registered with the British Carnation Society.. The descriptions are furnished by the hon. secretary, Mr P. F. Bunyard. Sybil.—A variety of purple-violet colour. The blooms measure Sin across and have a spicy fragrance. The plant is free-btoom-ing and the stems are of medium substance. Registered by Messrs Stuart Low and Co., Bush Hill Park, Enfield. Sunrise. —A deep salmon variety with blooms Sin to 3jin in diameter, and they are fragrant. Registered by Messrs \V. E. Wallace and Son, Eaton Bray, Dunstable. The Favourite.—A flesh-pink variety with blooms 3iin to 4in in diameter. Both the habit and stem ere good. Registered by Messrs W. E. Wallace and Son. Moonbeam.—A white variety with blooms 3jin to 4in in diameter. The flowers are fragrant mid produced on good, stiff stems. Registered by Messrs W. E. Wallace and Son. Royalty.—This variety is deep manvecolourcd marked with cerise. The. blooms measure 5m in diameter. The habit of the plant is good, and the flower steins are also good. It is said to be a freegrower. Registered by Messrs W. E. Wallace and Son. Stephanie.—This variety has delicate mauve coloured petals resembling that o. peach blossom. The flowers are 3in to in diameter. Belli the habit, and stem ate good. Registered by Messrs W. E. Wallace and Son. Mrs A. A. Viasto. —This variety has rosv-pnrple colouring on a white ground. The blooms measure three inches in diameter and have a fragrance similar to that, of the Old Clove. The habit and stem are good; the stems are almost as strong as those of a Malmaison variety, some 24m to 30in lomr. and self-supporting. The habit of growth and constitution of the plant are both excellent. Registered by Mr J. C. Beck, the Nurseries, Henley-On-Thames.
