PERSONAL.
Mr G. Glendinning and Mr J. Evans left Dunedin by yesterday's late express for the north. They are proceeding to Auckland on business. The resignation of Messrs J. Dickson, J. J. M'Cartney, J. P. M‘Cartney. W. M’Gill. and J. H. Seaton as trustees of the Portobello public cemetery was notified in last week’s New Zealand Gazette. Brother M‘Gee, who came to Dunedin to attend the jubilee celebrations of the Christion Brothers’ School, left by yesterday’s late express for the north on his return to Hobart. The death occurred on Wednesday of Mr tephen Leslie Carey, at the age of 31 years, after eight years’ illness following extensive service with the N.Z.E.F. in France in the Great War. He went to Central Otago some vears ago in an endeavour to regain his health, but his condition gradually became worse until his death occurred at Ettrick. He was a prominent member of the Otago Rowing Club at one time, and was esteemed among those who knew him.
