The possibilities of irrigation in Central Otago, already a success, are to be further inquired into, and a commission of inquiry b s been set up to report upon the Mannherikia scheme. The Lands, Agricultural, and Public Works Departments will be represented on the commission Mr R. A Rodger is the representative of the Lands Department. He is thoroughly acquainted with the country. Mr J. R. Marks (Public Works engineer, Dunedin), wkiH represent the Public Works Department). and Mr R. B. Tennent (Instructor of the Fields Djvision in Otago) will represent the Ac-i'-'dtnrsl Denartrnent.
