Thero is always a certain amount of humour associated with an election, but the election concerned in “Running tor Office,” the latest revue at the Princess Theatre, has been endowed with more than the usual number of laughable situations Little Hermio and Abe Cohen are in particularly good form, and the dancing and singing are up to the usual standard. On the vaudeville side of th" programme turns are given by Joe Brennan and Ida Newton (musical comedy stars), Bella and Morris (comedians). Queenie and David Kaili (Hawaiian entertainers). Harold Walden (“The Yorkshire Gentleman”) and Swift and Daly (novelty instrumentalists). The revival of the old-time nigger minstrel show has proved such a success in New York and throughout the United States of America that Sir Benjamin Fuller and Mr John Fuller have organised not only one. but two of these fun shows for presentation in their vaudeville theatres. The first coi..bination of minstrels appeared at Fullers’ Theatre. Sydney. where thev created a furore and proved one of the most popular attractions ever seen at this house. This clever band of entertainers is to '-■-"ear at the Princess Theatre on Monday. The nigger minstrel has brought happiness to thousands. He is sad when sadness is required. yet his lilting, joyful melodies have swayed thousands back from the verge of despair. He is an entertaining force in himself, and when he picks his banjo the silence of the theatre is eloquent of his talent. And to-day in Fuller theatres the minstrels have returned.
