It was an absurdity, an as he was now on the executive he ii tended to fight this matter with a viei tc an alteration. The musical people c New Zealand, all the same, ecognise< that the Garrison Band, was the champio: band of Xevr Zealand, having now wo: two test selections. The mayo- presented a baton to eac of the conductors, from the mayor, citi zens and supporters in Wanganui in com memoraiioh of their victories. The mayo said that the batons would be a record o the very great honour the bandsmen ha< done the city, and he hoped their Buceesse would be the forerunner of many mop wins.
