SEAMAN TERRIBLY INJURED. • MARAMA’,S RACE FOR PORT. (Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) ' SYDNEY, January 28. The Marama., from Auckland, arrived two hours ahead of schedule time. The steamer wont full speed when over 300 miles from Sydney in order to obtain medical attention for one of the crew, G. Ramsay, who had an arm torn off in the engine room. .As there was no doctor aboard the ship, the captain attended the man, and, in response to a wireless message, the Marama was met by an ambulance and Ramsay was taken to the hospital. George Ramsay, who had an arm torn off in the engine room, of the Marama, is a. young man belonging to Port Chalmers and is a son of the late Captain Ramsay who was (well-known in the Harbour Board’s service. Ramsay shipped as wiper on the Marama when she went into commission at Port Chalmers a few weeks after having bean converted to oil fuel.
