Today’s observance of Australia Day is the first, occasion on which the holiday has been officially celebrated in America. The guests at the Plaza- Hotel function, given by Sir J. A. M. Elder (Australian Commissioner) and Lady Elder included Sir Esme Howard (British Ambassador),■ and the Consuls of twelve foreign countries.—Reuter.
