PRAISE FOR LOCAL ENTERPRISE. Messrs G. Mctliven and Co. (Ltd.), the veil-known brassfoundors who were amongst, (lie few local manufacturers who responded to (he Government’s appeal to make a display of their products at Wembley, have received the following communication from the Department of Industries and Commerce, dated January Vi, J92G:— The authorities controlling the British Empire Exhibition decided against a system of competitive awards in relation to exhibits at Wembley, but determined upon the issue to exhibitors of a commemorative medal accompanied by a decorative certificate. The -department fakes pleasure in forwarding to you, under separate cover, a certificate in respect of the exhibit provided by you for (he New Zealand Pavilion at Wombley, and desires to record its appreciation of your action in co-operating in the effort to display adequately the national life, progress, and attractions of (his Dominion. —(Signed) J.
