SHIPOWNERS’ FUND
EXTENDED TO CURLS. TO BE TRAINED ,AS DOMESTICS. (Brens Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, January 17. An Admiralty fleet order notifies that the New Zealand sheepowners’ fund for the settlement of boys has been extended to girls. Preference is to be given to sisters of boys already selected, but other girls are eligible provided that their fathers have served in the Navy or the merchant marine, and /were killed or injured during the Great War. The girls selected will be sent to New Zealand for training in domestic work and smaller branches of farm work, and subsequently placed in situations under the supervision of the Y.W.C..A and the wives of farmers.—Reuter.
