GOOD PRICES FOR PIGS. We are paying the highest ruling price for pigs. Only prime dairy-fed pigs bought. Try our mild cured bacon, cured in our up-to-date factory from prime dairy-fed pigs only. Obtainable at all our shops. Salisbury Butchery. —Advt. ADDINGTON MARKET. (Pek United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 13. The virtual cessation of freezing operations at the various works was reflected to-day in much reduced entries of fat lambs and sheep. There were only 420 of the former, as against a normal mid-January entry of 5000 to COOO, and six races of sheep, about hall the usual complement. In neither case was there a sufficient entry for the butchering trade. Fat Sheep .—There was a surprisingly brisk sale for the few pens of wethers forward, and also for the iambs, due in both coses to the small entries of fat stuff. Butchers augmented their supplies from the store section. Forward four, six, and eighttoothed wethers brought from 25s to 26s 3d; four six. and eight-tooth wethers, 24s to 24s 10d; good two-toothed halibred wethers, 22s lOd to 245; two-toothed halibred wethers, 20s 2d to 21s 6d; cull two-toothed wethers, 18s to 20s; forward Corriedale lambs, 235; good crossbred lambs, 23s Id; small and inferior lambs, 18s 2d to 20s 2d; soundmouthed crossbred ewes, 20s; aged Coniedalc ewes, 18s. Fat Lambs.—A small entry met with a vary keen demand from butchers at the outset, the price being up on schedule rates by 2s 6d per head.
