LIMITING THE BYE. Thpro is still a divided opinion among yachtsmen in the various centres as to the desirability of limiting the age of Sanders Cup crew’s to 21 years. Last season the Wellington delegates to the Dominion Yachting Conference held prior to tho Sanders "Oup contest at, Auckland put forward the proposal, but it was rejected by the other delegates. The. mutter was brought up again at the annual meeting of the Koval Port Nicholson Yacht; Club held recently when Air C. Tringham said that they should press tho suggestion again at. the' next conference. Tho races at Auckland in February last were won, he said, by an old and experienced crew, and he felt sure that that was not the true spirit of Use donor's intention. Air V/. Duncan said that the proposed alteration in the rules of tho contest would never go through n.l it was at present. _ If the some members made up Hie Dominion Council when the contest was held at, Dunedin in February, it was unlikely that the proposal would be adopted. Air B. .T. L. Juke; said that the feeling of the. council had seemed to be that it. is a _championship contest, and that the limiting of the ages would make it a. junior championship. Tt was also stated that when the eup was first presented by Tslcssrs Walker and Hall, there was no mention of it being contested by boys, and that the first suggestion was that >1 should bn raced for by returned soldiers, who would certainly be over 21 years of age. It was decided that n. remit on the matter be sent as a recommendation to tho next Dominion Council.
