OTAGO LAND BOARD.

A meeting of the Otago Land Board was held yesterday and was attended by Messrs R. S. Galbraith (chairman), James _Smith, George Livingstone, C. J. Inder, and T. A. Munro. APPLICATIONS FOR LAND. Thos. A. M'Lean applied for a license to occupy section 318, block 11, Tokaram Settlement; area 2 acres 2 roods 5 poles.— Yearly license granted at annual rental of 10s. John Wilson applied for a license to occupy section 55, block 111, Lauder S.D., a gravel reserve containing 43 acres 1 rood 31 perches, which was fenced in with his property. A grazing license over the section was granted by the Land Board at last meeting to Wm. Leith.—Resolution ot December 9 rescinded. Year to- year license granted to Mr Wilson at annual rental of £1 on condition that he supplies county council with gravel free of charge. John Lothian applied for a license to occupy an area between section 107. block X, Leaning Rock S.D., and the Molyneux River.—Year to year license under section 147 of the Land'Act, 1924, granted at an annual rental of £2, subject to the condition suggested by the field inspector. Louisa M. Bourse applied for an occupation lease over section 4, block XI, Leaning Rock S.D., area 37 acres 2 roods—Granted at annual rental of £l. J. A. Nikander applied for a _ grazing license over an unoccupied area of Crown land in block V, Kawarau S.D., on the bank of ’he river.—Grazing license from year to yeax granted at annual rental of £4. DISPOSAL OF LAND. Field-inspector Simpson submitted report and valution of sections in block H, town of Kurow. —Sections 3 to 7 to be ollered for sale by public auction as town land at upset price of £5 each. Field-inspector Mee submitted a valuation of sections 5. 6, and 7, block V, Town of Balclutha, tlie reservation of which had been cancelled.—Recommended that sections b© offered for sale by public auction as town land at upset price of £SO per section. Albert Henry Latta applied for a renewal of his license over Post Office site, Township of Quakerfield.—Miscellaneous license for one year granted at a rental of £lO. RESIDENCE AND IMPROVEMENT CONDITIONS. The Secretary, Returned Soldiers’ Association, wrote on behalf of J. H. Sebelin, in response to a notice to show cause why the lease of section 2s, Poplar Grove Settlement, should not be declared forfeited for non-compliance with the residence and improvement conditions thereof. —It was resolved to rescind resolution of December 9, 1925. declaring lease forfeited and to suspend action for six months. J. S. Woods advised that, having sold the Omarama Hotel, he had no further use for grazing license over section 19, block I, Bcnmore S.D. He requested permission to remove fencing should the land be granted to another applicant with whom he was unable to arrange for payment of the value of the fencing.—The license was cancelled from January 8, 1926, and the request in regard to fencing was granted. The board was requested to consider the question of cancellation of license over sections 10 and 12, block VIII, Tautuku district, held in the name of William Gwyn, Ltd.—License cancelled from April 12, J 925. Eliz. H. O’Connor applied to surrender her year to year licenses over sections »1, block XIII, Tautuku, and 4, block XIII, Tautuku S.D., and requested that fresh licenses be issued to Charles Wybrow and Mary Jane Wybrow.—Fresh license to be issued over section 1, block XHI, to Charles Wybrow at a rental of £1 per annum; license over section 4, block XIII, to be issued to Mary Jane Wybrow at a rental of £1 10s per annum.
