UNREGISTERED DENTISTS.

PROTEST AGAINST PROTECTION. HOSPITAL BOARD CRITICISED. (Asa United Peess Association.) AUCKLAND, October 21. The Auckland Hospital Board received a letter from nine members, of the honorary staff of the Dental Hospital as a protest against the board’s action in requesting the Government to extend protection for ungistered dentists until the contemplated protective legislation was obtained. The staff claimed the right to have been consulted before any action was taken on an ex parte statement. , The Chairman (Mr Wallace) said that it would be a sorry day whrn a policy was dictated to the board in such a manner. It convinced him that tile attitude of the board toward unregistered dentists was right. Ho moved: ‘‘That the resignation be accepted.” adding that if applications are invited from outside of the association there would be plenty of replies. Other members contended that there was no honorary dental staff, and that the whole thing should bo ignored. The board resolved that the letter be received and that, no action be taken.
