Hot From the Wires The following unsolicited cable has been received by the New Zealand Alliance from the Rev. Charles S. Difficulties, law violations, corruption by the organised outlawed Liquor Traffic, and its fruits, were fearlessly faced. The cable shows that this Report is being misrepresented. The Liquor Traffic in New Zemand —which has* already been convicted of making absolutely false statements in regard to the Salvation Army and Prohibition—may quote parts, distort and misrepresent the Federal Council Report. Be on your guard; remember that the Federal Council of the Churches, and the millions of Church members it represents, are still enthusiastically in favour of Prohibition and for law enforcement. DETROIT FREE PRESS—This paper is quoted by the Liquor Traffic as having changed its views from a supporter to an opponent of Prohibition. The Liquor Traffic conceals the fact that the paper was previously owned by lukewarm supporters, but has since CHANGED OWNERSHIP and is now controlled by opponents of Prohibition.
