LORD JELLICOE’S AUNT.
CELEBRATION OP 101 TH BIRTHDAY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) LONDON, September 8; Miss Catherine Jane Jelliooe, Viscount Jcllicoe’s aunt, enters upon her 105th year to-day, and may expect numerous congratulatory messages, headed by those from the King and Queen. She lives in the top room of a tall old house in Portland Terrace, Southampton, which commands a view of the sea. Though (rail her only infirmity is deafness. She reads much, takes a keen interest in current affairs, and is still able to write letters to her numerous relatives. One of these, a brother, the Rev. George Jellicoe, of Baasctt, Southampton, used to visit her frequently, but he died recently at the age of 95. * The admiral’s father died in 19)4 at the age of 90. Mias Grace Whalley Smith Gardner, a cousin, was 105 when she died In 1921. Lord Jellicoe at 66 is extraordinarily youthful. Miss Jellicoe was born when George IV had been a year on the throne. Lord Jellicoe, who is opening the Harbour Board offices at Southampton to-day, will call on his aunt to congratulate hex.
