GENERAL NEWS.
Court Woodlands Pride, A.O.F. , held its fortnightly meeting in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Rattray street, on Monday, October 12, the Chief Hanger (Sister M. Brockie) presiding. There was a fair attendance of members present. During the meeting throe new members were initiated, including one 'by clearance from the North Island. Official visits were received from Courts Excelsior and ICing Edward’s Pride. The usual Foresters’ toast was given to the visitors by the Chief Ranger, and was duly responded to by the Chief Rangers of the visiting courts. After the meeting a social function was held in the court room, the arrangements being in the hands of Sisters Godfrey and Thomson. A supper was later served. The Ranfurly Football Club hold its annual smoke concert in the A. and P. Hall on Saturday last, Mr J. I. Fraser being in the chair. A most enjoyable evening was spent. The following toasts were proposed:—“The King,” "0.R.F.U.,” “Haniototo SubUnion,” “Ranfurly Footfall Club,” “First and Second Fifteens.” “Kindred Sports,” “Referees,” “Sister Clubs,” and “Football Supporters,”
