Mr G. A. Bishop, who is at present on a visit to Invercargill in connection with Exhibition matters, will return to Dunedin on Saturday. Mr J. S. Douglas (chairman of the City Council’s Tramways' Committee), and Mr W. H. Mackenzie (tramways manager), who have boon attending the tramways conference in Wellington, returned to Dunedin by the express last night. Mr and Mrs Albert Eueurheerd and. Miss Fuouri«eord, of Oporto, Portugal, who have been visiting the Lakes District, returned to Dunedin last, evening and are staying at the Grand Hotel. . . A cablegram received from the Trinity College of Music, London, announces that a senior practical exhibition has been won by Miss Edna M. Dry (pupil of Mr Cl] as. A. Martin) and an intermediate practical exhibition by Miss Marjorie* M’Dowell (■put>i! of Barth School of Music). Mr John A. Dewar, of the famous distillery firm. Perth, Scotland, who has been on a visit to Dunedin, will leave for Invercargill to-day. He proposes to return for the week-end. and will then go to Christchurch for the Grand National meeting. After visiting the North Island, Mr Dewar expects to reach Sydney early next month, cn route for Home. Tire annual report of the Maori Hill Presbyterian Church presented at the meeting last night contained the following clause;—“The Session desires to record its high appreciation of the late Rev. Dr Cameron. On his retirement from the charge of Anderson’s Bay, while continuing his valued interest in matters of education and social service, he, with his family, joined this congregation and rendered effective help in various departments of its activities, Dr Cameron himself taking part in conducting public worship and preaching on several ordinary and special occasions while his holy and cheerful life was a stimulating example to all who knew him. The Session extends its sincere sympathy to Mrs Cameron and family.”
