An exhibit at the Thrift Exhibition that attracted a great deal of attention and favourable comment from careful housewives was that staged by Mrs A. Ward, of St. Kilda, who had on view different kinds of soap made with the aid of Mako soa.p. f n an interview with a representative of this journal Mr E. H. Tate, of M‘Arthur’s Agencies, by whom Makosoap is manufactured, gavo a few; particulars of the preparation. By its aid, he said, 15s worth of soap could bo made for the small outlay of 4s sd. It is a very simple process, and, providing the instructions on the packet are followed, Makosoap never fails to give satisfaction. What is another factor in its favour is that it takes only an hour and a-half to complete the operation. Excellent toilet soap can bo made with its aid, 22s 6d worth costing only 8s 6d. Shaving, catholic, and sandsoap may also bo manufactured very cheaply. Mr Tate showed the writer several very laudatory testimonials which he had received from satisfied users. In these stressful times of high cost of living Makosoap has proved a boon to a great many people, and the demand for it is ever on the increase.—6B2s.
