MOSGIEL BOROUGH COUNCIL.

At Monday's meeting of the Moagiel Borough Council the following business was transacted in addition to that already reported:— The Ranger reported having impounded two horses and five cows during the month. One impounding fee had not been paid. It was resolved to write to the offender that if the 'fee was not paid within one week a prosecution must follow Tenders were dealt with for the carting of gravel, and that of Murdoch Bros, accepted. , , , Crs M‘Leod, Mitchell, and the clerk were appointed a sub-committee to revise the schedule of charges for the Coronation Hall, and to report on same to next meeting of council In connection with a sewer connection for Miss Drummond’s property, it was decided to ask an adjoining neighbour to connect with the main also, and share the cost with the applicant. The inspector was instructed to report on the extension of the main sewer pipe with a view to making it possible for residences in the vicinity of Dr Shaw’s residence to be connected. It was decided to have the gully traps in drains at corner of Berwick street and Bush road cleaned. The inspector was instructed to blind the metal in Factory road with screenings. A complaint was laid before the council about a resident hosing his motor car on the street, and also burning rubbish on the same street.—lt was resolved to write to the offender to stop the nuisance complained of.
