[(1) The Bill provides that a period of 15 to 20 minutes shall be allotted daily at the opening of every public school, Native school, secondary school, and technical high school, for the recitation of the Lord’s Prayer, the singing or recitation of a hymn from a hymnal to be compiled by the Education Department after consultation with the representatives of the Christian churches, and the reading of a Bible lesson from a manual compiled similarly to the hymnal. (2) The Bill provides that the Scripture reading shall be by the teacher or pupils. (3) The Bill contains a conscience clause for teachers and pupils.— Ed. O.D.TJ
