HOCKEY. WELLINGTON DEFEATS OTAGO. (Pen United JPkess Association.) WELLINGTON, August 4. The hockey tourney was continued to-day in good weather. Results: Wellington A 4, Otago 1; Canterbury 6, Wellington B 3. LADIES’ ASSOCIATION. The weekly meeting of the executive of the Otago Ladies’ Hockey Association was held on Monday evening, when there were present: Mrs R. Hudson (in the chair), Mrs G. A. Nelson, Misses White, Adams, Turner, Anderson, Burton, and Hill. A letter was received from the secretary of the New Zealand Ladies’ Hockey Association advising that a special meeting of the council was to be held in Wellington od August 10, the main business being to consider the allocation of the dominion tournament. In order to raise funds the executive decided to hold a dance about August 19, details to be arranged at the next meeting.
