CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. The monthly meeting of tho committee of tho Society "for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held at tho office of Air E. S. Wilson yesterday afternoon, and waz attended by Sir George Fenwick (in the chair), Airs Porteous, Miss Porteous, Messrs D. Andrew, Crosby Morris, the Rov. W. Saunders, and Inspector Craig. Airs Do Boor wrote stating that she would not ho able to be present at tho meotng. She would be leaving for 'England shortly, and she tendered her resignation as a member of tho committee, Khe wished (ho society continued success in tho good work it was doing.—At the suggestion of the chairman it wan decided that tho resignation bo accepted, and that a letter bo sent to Airs do Beer expressing regret that she was under the necessity of resigning her position on the committee. The Idling oi the vacancy was left over till next meeting. With regard to the pigeon shooting matches tho Hon. G. M. I homson forwarded a copy of the Rill that had passed the Upper House. —It was resolved to thank tho lion. G. Af. Thomson for forwarding a, copy of the Bill, and to write to each society asking it to approach members in its own provincial district, with a request to support the measure in the Lower House. Leave of absence was granted Kir George Fenwick for two months during his absence in Australia.
