DUNEDIN PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY.
The Dunedin Philharmonic Society will give its third concert this season in llis Majesty’s Theatre to-morrow evening, when a most attractive programme is being put on, including Tschaikowsky’s famous overture solonnello “1812.” For the performance of this work tho services of the Band of the Ist Battalion and the St. Kilda Municipal Band have been secured, and Messrs A. and T. Burt have east four hells weighing 4071 b, (o be used in the performance of this stirring overture. Those who have not had the pleasure of hearing this fine work should not miss this opportunity. Another attractive, item will be “Avc Maria,” by Schubert, tho cornet, solo being played by Mr Bud Wills, tho Now Zealand champion cornet player. Among the numerous other attractive items on the programme will he the pizzicato “Silver Bells,” including a elockenspcil solo by Mr Uoxon. The vocalists for this concert will bo Miss Elsie Bryant and Mr Arthur Lungley. A limited number of 2s 6d tickets will bo on sale at the door, and it is anticipated that this lino programme will attract a packed house to-morrow evening.
