THE FEASTS OF JEHOVAH.

The Art Gallery Hall was comfortably filled last evening when Mr F. Hunter (evangelist) continued his addresses on the Seven Feasts of Jehovah. The scriptures read were as follows: Lev. xxiii, 5-8, Ex. xii 14-20. Ex. xiii 1-8, Nam. xxviii, 16-25, Dent xvi, 1-4, Matt, xvi, 6-12, Matt, xiii, 33, 1 Cor, y, 7-8. Gal. v, 7-9. After giving a resume of the Feast of the Passover the speaker proceeded to the Feast of Unleavened Bread. He stated it was one of the most practical of the seven feasts and one of the fullest in divine truth. It immediately followed the Passover. There was not a day between, and the lesson that was to be learned therefrom was that God claimed His people all for Himself right from the moment of their redemption. It was a seven days' feast and took in the whole of the Christian’s pathway during his life on earth. The main point therefore in the teaching as unfolded in the Feast of Unleavened Bread was the sanctification proceeding from the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ. In dealing with leaven as mentioned tn the New Testament the speaker stated that the leaven of the Pharisees was hypocrisy, the leaven of the Sadducees was rationalism, and the leaven of the Herodians, worldlincss. In the Old Testament- the leaven was material, in the New Testament it spoke of moral or doctrinal evil. The general idea to-day of the teaching of Matt, xiii, 33 was not in accordance with the mind of God. Tiro Gospel would not leaven the whole world, all would not bo converted, but evil men would according too scripture wax worse and worse. No leaven was to be allowed within Israel’s borders, neither with the individual, nor in their houses, nor in all their cpiarters. A death penalty was connected with the one with whom leaven was found or who would cat leavened bread. The cutting off of the Israelite who offended from the congregation of Israel signified today the severance of communion between the believer and God. This evening the speaker purposes to continue his discourse on the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
