(Received July 14, at 9 p.m.) The Daily Chronicle’s lobby correspondent says that the Liberals have chosen Thursday for a discussion on the vote for the navy, hoping 1 to got a Government _ statement regarding the building policy. Cabinet to-morrow will receive the report of the Earl of Birkenhead’s committee, the decision of which is in favour of a programme of four cruisers. The Admiralty strongly criticises the idea, and the Sea Lords are again in revolt. Wednesday's Cabinet is likely to provide a rough passage for Mr Bridgeman. A reinforced and strong Conservative group will put up a stubborn fight for eight cruisers or at least six, as the Australian Government is finding two. Unless Cabinet sanctions the full programme there may be a few resignations.—Reuter.
