EMPIRE MIGRATION

1 DELAYS IN AUSTRALIA. ■ Preu Association —By Tslegraph—Copyright. LONDON, July 13. (Received July 14, at 8 p.m.) Speaking in the House of Commons in reply to Sir C. Kinlock-Cooke in regard to the decline of Empire migration, Mr W. G. A. Onnsby-Gore (Under-secretary to the Colonial Office) said that the British Government was moot anxious to co-operate with the Governments of the dominions in every way in order to secure a better and healthier distribution ol population throughout the Empire. Sir C. Kinloch-Oooke asked whether the policy of the State Governments of the Commonwealth had been mainly the cause of the position in regard to Australia. Mr Onusby-Qoro replied that he would not say that. To throw the whole blame for the difficulties, which apart altogether from any question of policy which could not be controlled by the Government, on the State Governments of Australia would be unfair.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
