CAVERSHAM BOWLING CLUB.
ANNUAL, MEETING. Tho second annual mooting of tho Caversham Bowling Club was hold in the pavilion Last night, tho president (Mr F. Wilkinson) occupying tho chair. There was a largo attendance of members. The Chairman, in moving tho adoption of the annual report and balance sheet, said that the position the club had attained in the inter-club competitions was one it could congratulate itself upon, considering • tho clubs it had to compete against. They owed a groat deal to the selectors, and should congratulate them on tho success attained. He also congratulated Mr A. Thomson on his performance in winning the champion singles, and in being a player in tho ■winning doubles and in the winning rinks. Mr Thomson had put Up a unique record. The billiard table had not been so much used during tho past season, hut it had proved an attraction for a largo number of members. During tho year the receipts from all sources amounted to £lB2 12s and tho expenditure, which included £lO paid off debenture account, totalled £173 5s 11, which left a credit balance of £9 6s 2d for the year. A sum of £SO had been written off tho property and plant account. The report and balance sheet were adopted. . The election of office-bearers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr T. K. Sidey, M.P. ; president. Mr F. Wilkinson; vice-president, Mr H. Stubbs; secretary and treasurer, Mr A. Mitchell; auditor, Mr J. G. D. Dempster; committee—Messrs G. Will, A. Paine, W. Anderson, J. Forster, and A. Thomson; delegates to the Dunedin Bowling Centre —Messrs F. Wilkinson and R. H. Todd; selection committee —Messrs J. Forster and G. Will: club tics committee — Messrs J. Forster,_ G. Wills and A. Thomson ; social committee—Messrs H. Stubbs, J. Ingram. A. Paine, and W, Orchard. It was decided that tho club’s delegates support tho playing of inter-club matches <m Saturdays during the coming season. Tlie delegates were instructed to urge that as many fixtures as possible be played. The delegates were also instructed to urge that no four rink games bo played on Saturdays. It, was decided that the club’s handicap singles bo confined to leads and seconds.
