LABOUR’S ERRORS.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— Recently when I wrote you agreeing in a measure with Labour’s ideas on the ownership and use of our lands, I demurred to giving the control into the "’hands of Labour owing to a want of confidence in it created bv its mismanagement of its own affairs. Wo have since then had instances of this. When the weather wa-s wot, waterside workers were crying out that their earnings were small, but now when there is plenty of employment for them, when one would expect they would do their best to make up for lost time, what do they do? Why strike over, or make a dispute about, the rate of pay for certain work. Common sense would say that they should do the work and let the Disputes Committee settle the rate of wages. I advocate that Labour should use its money for co-operative purposes, and now we have the Hon. W.’D. Stewart telling of successful co-operative banks in America. When Labour learns the lessons sticking out before it, it will he time enough for it to think of having control, of (ho country.—l am. etc.. No Illusions. duly 11. __________
