MEN OF' THE ICE AGE. HANDIWORK DISCOVERED. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. BERLIN, July 12. (Received July 13, at 7 p.m.) A perfectly preserved oaken footbridge, 40 yards long, consisting of planed planks, fastened by Oaken clamps, which men of the ice age constructed across a marshj river bed has been unearthed in a mineshaft at Dortmund. Archaeologists are of opinion that it is 50,000 years old. It is the most important pro-historic discovery for years, and proves the intelligence and skill of the ice men, whose only implements were mammoths’ teeth.— Sydney Sun Cable.
