The Cargill Road Methodist Hamers held a paper chase from the Morning ton Methodist Lhurch on Saturday. A good trail, which led through a good deal of mud and water, was laid by D. Ashby and It. Graves. The trail led round the Mornmgton tramsheds, up to Kenmure road, and down a, muddy track on the other side of the hill to the Roslyn Mills. After going up Glenelg, a wide detour was made to the Kaikorai Valley road towards the end of which a very good false trail sent several off to Burnside. The trail led off tile road before the old Caversham tunnel up to Look-out Point, and along Mornington street to home, the first men arriving three minutes after the hares. M. King thirdThe Dunedin Anglican Harriers ran from the Bungalow Tea Rooms, St. Kilda, the pack of 26, under the control of Deputycaptain Henderson fallowing a trail, laid by Green and Provo, which followed Victoria road to Tahuna Park then swung across to Musselburgh Rise, thence across the hills and circling back to the road to Highcliff, and back home by the Tomahawk road. In the run horn© Asliby was first, followed by Gray and Rolf© some yards behind. the run the members were 1 entertained tea by Air J. B. Bibby, vice-president of the club. Some 20 odd members of the Caversham Harriers ran from the Wakari School. Gibbs and Williamson had command of the paper, rho trail was followed down the hill and into the Golf Links. Here the trail was lost, and the pack ran on its own initiative under Captain Emmerson, who set over to the foothills of Mount Flagstaff. Some very fine harrier country was found in this region. Spills were frequent, but the members stuck gamely to their 'task. From a good- run home, Stewart obtained firs) place, closely followed by Gallagher, Heaton, M‘Cabe and Henderson. Tlie St. Kilda Harriers went by train to Mosgiel, where they held a paper chase from the Mosgiel Methodist Church. The trail laid by J- Dunne and C. Bissland led up the main street, across the railway line, and branching off to the left before reaching the old quarry, whore they encountered a broad ploughed field, which made heavy going for a while. Leaving this, they struck across a slippery grass paddock and up through the head of a deep gully nearing the top of Saddle Hill. Then the trail doubled back along the side of the hill through gorso and manuka, where the runners found great difficulty in keeping their feet. The trail finally struck the road, which was followed at a good pace back to the starting point. The Civil Service Harriers ran from Port Chalmers on Saturday as the guests of the Anglican Ladies’ Junior Guild. The trail led round Deborah Bay as far as Grassy Point, then climbing the hills over the Mihiwaka tunnel till Hayward’s Point road was reached. A good run was obtained from here to the Cairn, the run home being along Cemetery road, L. Stevens and E- C Brown finishing first and second respec tively. Afterwards a social evening and dance was held'. The Leith Harriers held a run from Holy Innocents’ Schoolroom. In spite of the in clement weather there was a good attendance. The pack, under the whistles of Acting Captain A. Ellis and Acting Deputycaptain J. Fraser, followed a trail laid by K, Mackay and E. Clarke up Leith Valley a short, way, over the hill past Ross Creek Reservoir, and up to Flagstaff. The trail ended in som» dense bush near the topAfter some difficulty', the road was reached, and a fast run was made for home. The members were afterwards the guests of Mr and Mrs G. Clarke.
